We've actually known each other since we were kids - we went to daycare together (something Michael remembered and I did not). We reconnected in 5th grade when he transferred to AV-W, and we "dated" which at that age meant nervously passing notes and avoiding actual conversation.

Throughout middle school and high school, we stayed good friends. In college, we'd still check in occasionally - usually when Wisconsin and Arizona faced off in March Madness and Arizona would (painfully) lose.

Eventually, life took us in different directions, and we fell out of touch. We ran into each other at the gym while I was home for the summer, before I was supposed to move to Denver. That move never happened, and we've been together ever since.
